Went for a late breakfast sat morning, there was a 20 min wait, but seemed to go pretty quickly! The decor is so very cute. I was really happy with the western omelette, coffee, and service!

I love coming to Anna's House. It's so bright and happy inside and the servers are always attentive and smiling. I got the baked healthy oats and fresh squeezed orange juice with a side of sausage and it was fantastic. Portions were large and I left with a box. I especially love that all their meat is chemical free. My 2 year old can not stop eating the sausage and I feel good about giving it to him.

Service was great and even though they were very busy they got us seated and served rather quickly. Food was good everything tasted fresh and looked great. I will go back again. (E.Beltline)

Went on a tuesday. Place was easy to find. Parking was no problem. Seated quickly and accommodations for infant were provided before requested. Wait staff was friendly. Didn't have cable service yet so wasn't able to watch the world cup. Place is clean and bright with a modern diner feel. Bathrooms were clean. Belgium waffles were ok. The big breakfast was also nothing special (large portions tho). Will come again and try new dishes.

We went here on a weekday and the parking lot looked pretty full. I love the building inside and out...really cute decor. The host / hostess were friendly and took down our name on their iPad and said the wait would be 15 - 20 mins...and it ended up being more like 5 mins! The service was good. The menu is pretty big and everything sounded great. I ended up with the smoked salmon hash, which was really good! One of the other people that went with me got an ommlette and it was massive! He said it was great. Another friend got the brussel sprout and sweet potato hash and she liked it. Everything tasted great. Again, really nice decor. Fresh and clean looking. No complaints. I can't wait to go back and try something from the "yummy" section of the menu!

Amazing food and service! This is one of our new favorite breakfast spots! Seventeen thumbs up!

What a great addition to Grand Rapids! Good food, service and atmosphere! Family friendly environment and food options to please any foodie.

I'm vegetarian, and disappointed with breakfast at Anna's. Been to the one on Plainfield and had the Hippie Hash twice. Both times there was TOO MUCH GARLIC! And I love garlic! Also, not well executed either time. So decided against that on my first visit at the Beltline location. Huge line on Sunday morning, but only waited about 20-25 minutes. Really expected something great. My hubs and I just wanted the regular breakfast...scrambled eggs, potatoes and toast. How can that go wrong?! Food came out quickly, but I wish they had taken some more care. Hubs and I both agreed on the food--there was no taste! Even after salting our eggs, they seemed flat. The potatoes were big chunks of what seemed like pre-cooked potatoes that were slightly warmed on the grill. I had asked them to be crispy, too. No sear, no crispiness, no flavor. The toast was fine. Decor was nice. That's about the only things we liked about the place, but not enough to bring us back.

Great breakfast joint. Very nice decor. The sweet potatoe hash was divine and they have fresh sqeezed oj. Our waitress was very friendly amd helpful. It was worth the slight wait we had.

Pleasantly suprised. Parking lot was crowded when we arrived at 10:00 am on a weekday, but there were plenty of open tables, and we were seated quickly. Pleasant staff. We had Hippy Hash and Brussel Sprouts and Sweet Potato Hash. Ample portions and about $10 each. I had the Brussel sprouts and sweet potato hash. It was delicious. Very creative combination. Filling yet healthful. Coffee was so so. OJ comes in a large glass only for $3 or $4 for freshed squeezed. Nice place for breakfast. A bit pricey though.

By far the best Reuben sandwich I have ever had. Great service and atmosphere. The burgers are also good. Everything was very fresh. Highly recommended!
(5)Ken R.
Nice ambience and friendly service - but *completely* overpriced. $50 for our family breakfast (with 2 kid meals) is absurd - as is the $3 price tag for kid's milk. Food is completely fine, but not worth the premium pricing. There are much better breakfast options in the area - we won't be back.

We are from the east air of the state and came this way for a weekend getaway , this place is a gem in the suburbs of Grand Rapids ! Amazing service , wonderful food , a menus that offers so much even gluten free options ! If you are in the area check them out !
(4)Anne V.
The environment is so cute! Too bad the food and service aren't as wonderful. Our waitress was nice enough, but when my food came and it was missing half the ingredients, and I asked her about it, she told me those were the ingredients to another dish (???). I looked the menu up online, sure enough, I had not been mistaken. Corn beef and potatoes are fine when seasoned with onions and peppers but are pretty bland without! Also eggs over medium means the eggs should be warm and not extra runny. I really want to love this place! #frustrated

First trip really had my hopes up. A good line out the door usually means good food. The newly built/remodeled restaurant is very clean and looks great. Service was friendly, if a bit harried by the crowd. The menu had many delicious sounding choices and I went with The Hangover Omelette. It was simply "okay" not stellar and it did come with a lot of meat. The food was tasty but not outstanding. They did seem very interested in our opinion and gave me a coupon for a return visit when I was honest and said they were just average. I will come back again and try something else. The place has potential but the first impression was average.

Anna's house literally recreates the experience of visiting a friend/distant relative's house. It's unfamiliar yet comforting at the same time. The rooms are painted a bright turquoise with quirky decor like a collection of toasters mounted on the wall. The service was friendly and quick. The food was hot and comforting. It's a nice place for brunch, but it gets busy! Bring a book! I ordered the smoked salmon hash. In my opinion, the potato "medley" and salmon did not complement each other at all. I felt like there was a cream that was suppose to harmoniously bring the plate together. But, the accompaniment was missing entirely. Even with my over easy egg mixed in with my skillet, I found the salmon to be dry instead of smokey and the variety of potatoes simply confused my palate. One minute I would bite into a gritty yellow potato, a tender taro then a sweet potato. Altogether made for a very unusual potato salad. And to add onto my critique for the salmon... I've had smoked salmon from the upper peninsula and bought some at specialty fish markets... and maybe it wasn't fair that I compare the highest quality to restaurant quality, but I came with expectations that Anna's house did not meet. The salmon wasn't smoked nor did it have any buttery texture. It was dry and fishy and the carbs that were paired with it only enhanced it's flaws. Another downside was that we were serviced dirty coffee mugs. I suggest looking in them before someone pours coffee. So all in all three stars. I wasn't in love with this place but the little things like the waitress handing us fresh hot coffee cups to go was a bonus. So, thumbs up for free coffee. I wasn't completely wow-ed by Anna's House but it's friendly service, quirky/cute atmosphere and free coffee cup to go has me wanting to try this place again when I'm in town.

I have been here 4 times. Usually it's 3 times and you're out, but the place is so close and so cute I keep giving it another chance. Each time I am totally disappointed with the food. It doesn't make sense to me. They have everything in place to have a great little restaurant, but cannot execute the simplest menu items. We can all see that you have a great decorator. We can enjoy the excellent wait staff. But we can absolutely not understand why you can't get a decent chef to fulfill the items on the nicely rounded menu you have created. Put your money into the chef. It really is all that matters in the end. I will not return, will not recommend. There is no excuse for your crappy food. You could be great, but you are just so blah. For the prices you charge (a lot), you should be able to hire some decent cooks. Lot of them out there...
(1)Melissa G.
We tried AH because my dad suggested it before we flew out of GRR. the aesthetics of the place are great and cheerful. the menus are cute and eh, $7.00 avg price maybe $8.00. portions are large, my omlette was the size of my plate. Awesome toast choices. (Got cinnamon) The toast came loaded with butter and wasn't cold like some places you'll go. They have STEVIA and INTERNATIONAL DELIGHT CREAMERS for coffee :) which is awesome because you don't find stevia anywhere these days. Checked in and saved $2.00 on my drink and entree. Our 4-person bill was $40.00. All in all if you're in the area and you need new fare come here check it out. Check in!

While planning our trip to Michigan I found Anna's House on the Yelp App and knew we had to check it out. We really lucked out as there was no wait and we were seated immediately. Upon entering I fell in love with the decor. The light paint colors and all of the natural light made it feel like we were at someone's home having a nice summer lunch. The bathroom was pretty cool too. A few minutes after we were seated our waitress came over and took our drink orders. I went with the Becker Melt. It consists of ham, turkey, bacon, Swiss cheese, cheddar cheese, grilled onion, tomato and mayo on grilled Texas Toast. It was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had in my life! The hot ham, turkey and bacon covered in melted Swiss and cheddar cheese really made the sandwich and I love the fact that the Texas Toast was lightly grilled giving the bread the strength it needed to not fall apart and turn the sandwich into a mess. The fresh squeezed orange juice is very good as well. My wife got the Spicy Baja Turkey Jack Panini. It had turkey, tomato, avocado, pepper jack cheese and Jalapeno Cumin Mayo on Ciabatta bread. She absolutely loved it! Our daughter got the House Burger. It features a 6oz all beef patty served on a Brioche Bun topped with your choice of cheese, mayo, ketchup, mustard, bacon, onion, pickles, lettuce and tomato. She absolutely loved it as well! Be sure to "check in" on the Yelp App to receive $2 off an entree with a beverage purchase. Even though the place was packed the service we received was excellent. I highly recommend Anna's House. This small local chain is another must stop if you are ever in Grand Rapids.

This was our first time at Anna's House and after hearing such positive things, we were pretty excited to give it a try! I would say it was decent. Food wasn't outstanding but wasn't the worse either. We had a short wait which is expected on a Saturday morning but the staff was friendly/accommodating and the atmosphere was bright and comfortable. We will definitely try it again, along with something else on the menu (I had Anna's Skillet w/over medium eggs - that were a bit too runny for my liking - the husband said the chicken and waffles that he ordered were better than expected)!
(3)Kim E.
We checked out this place for brunch. It always seems to have a line late morning so make sure you hit it up early. The food was delicious. I had a breakfast burrito (I like to think I'm a connoisseur at the point). This one was top notch. My husband had the chicken and waffles and devoured them. I'm not your traditional breakfast food kind of girl so I appreciate when places get out of the comfort zone with their menu. Anna's House is one of those places. Service is awesome. Two thumbs up!
(5)Heidi B.
I love breakfast food, so was looking forward to trying a new breakfast restaurant. I ordered the hash, in spite of being warned by my friend that the potatoes would be janky. It was true! I've never seen such horribly cut potatoes. If they were cut at all, it was a little bit at the end. As a result, this didn't really seem like hash. It was more like eggs on top of potatoes. Somehow, the "hash" ended up being watery which made it less than palatable. That being said, I LOVE the decor. The blues and greens with a touch of vintage was nice. The service was also fantastic. I'd be willing to give Anna's House another try, but I think I'll skip the hash next time.
(3)Josh B.
The service was outstanding and so was the atmosphere/decor. I sat at the bar and my coffee stayed hot! The food was just okay. I got a corned beef skillet that came with toast and potatoes. It seemed that all the ingredients were very fresh (which I definitely appreciate), but everything just seemed to lack seasoning. The potatoes were just boiled redskins....that's it....no seasoning....no flattop crispness....just boiled potatoes. The corned beef was probably homemade (as advertised), but it also lacked seasoning and flavor. There were also some fresh chopped onions and green peppers....again no seasoning. The raisin toast I got was great, but all in all the meal was bland. I may try Anna's again because I'm a big breakfast person and they have a great selection. Maybe I just chose poorly today. Unfortunately for them there are a handful of really good breakfast spots in GR, so I'd probably only come back when I'm in the area versus a couple other places in town I would drive out of my way to eat at.
(3)Nika J.
I am not sure what the big deal is about these restaurants...the food was ok, but that is about it.
(3)Rachel R.
So delicious. The only way I was able to able to decide what to order was we immediately decided we'd be back the next day for breakfast, too. I had the potato pancakes with goat cheese, scallions, an apple cider reduction and two eggs. Perfect. It was a big portion, but not ridiculously so. I also had a horchata latte and that was very flavorful: perfectly spiced and not too sweet. My husband had the chicken and waffles with maple cream sauce. It was not a southern chicken and waffles, but the flavor a were a great take on a regional classic out of its region (I had to steal a bite!). He's very particular about his coffee, and he liked it. The kids menu is priced reasonably. The portion was pretty big for our preschooler - two young eaters could share. Our server was prompt, kind, and attentive (without hovering). We're going back again in the morning. I'm going to have to try pancakes or French toast. We have family near here, and Anna's House has now become a must-visit every time we come north. Update: We went back. I tried the Red Velvet pancake and it was stellar. Great flavor without being overwhelmingly sweet.
(5)Elaine W.
While the atmosphere is nice, the food is incredibly bland. We've been there three times now and ordered something different each time but still ended up disappointed. While the portions are large, that doesn't make up for tastelessness. My husband ordered the HUEVOS RANCHEROS WITH PORK CARNITAS and was asking me for the hot sauce just to add flavor. It's just not worth it.
(2)Libbie B.
Perfect meet up spot for breakfast or lunch. The food is delicious with a health conscious influence. Cheerful interior, attentive service, we will definitely put this on our list of regular places to eat!
(5)Lindsay C.
I would give 3.5 stars if that was an option, but I think this place has many assets that give it four stars. The decor is bright and beautiful and the service was excellent. We were seated within two minutes, which is good for a Sunday in the early afternoon. I had the western scramble with home fries. The eggs and sausage were tasty, but the sausage gravy was not super flavorful. It also had an incredible amount of cheese! I mean, I like cheese but there were a few bites that were like all cheese. My new potatoes were more or less whole, so they lacked the crispy aspects of a typical home fry, and they were not seasoned. I think I will try hash browns next time. Still, with some salt and pepper it was all fairly good and the portions were large. We shared a chocolate chip pancake that was not super large but had very high quality chocolate chips and was really good. My wife had the salmon skillet, which consists of roasted root veg, smoked salmon and two basted eggs. It was simple but tasty, with a cheese, sour cream and dill sauce (not sure if those are the exact ingredients, that's what it tasted like) which was delicious. The smoked salmon was the highlight, as it was full of smokey salty flavor. I didn't think the coffee was bad at all, even though we got the regular old stuff; it wasn't the best ever but it was good. All in all I would return and try more things.
(4)Jessica R.
This place is usually packed and has a great vibe to it. The service is really great, and I really appreciate the attention to detail put into this business! Maybe it was all of the hype that led me to disappointment, but I wasn't very impressed with the food. I got the red velvet pancakes, and it was okay, but nothing I'd come back for. My friend got an omelette that looked really good, but she didn't care for it too much either. I'm not sure if I'd come back to give it a try, but I'd probably have a leap of faith since that was my first and only time being there. I have heard excellent things about the food, and I'm sure that there are things I would like there. After all, there is a reason this place is always packed. For breakfast, I will probably stick to Wolfgang's though.
(2)Kori Y.
Great fresh food. Nice creative menu selections, and the traditional items that should be on every breakfast menu. I had the breakfast lasagna it was great.
(4)Billy L.
I would have to say this is one of the best breakfasts I've ever had that was actually healthy!! The decor is very cute and the staff is very friendly. I had the Sweet Potato and Brussels Sprouts Skillet with Gluten Free whole grain toast. The portions were huge, delicious and prices were very reasonable. I understand there are two other locations and more to come. We were at the Beltline location
(5)Adam S.
Went here for lunch on a weekday. Upon walking in, I was very impressed with the decor and ambience. They really nailed the breakfast atmosphere. Great job. They said it would be short wait to be seated, but upon further review, it was because they were understaffed. There were several tables open, so it was definitely not a seating issue. The hostess said we could sit at the counter if we'd like since there were a few open seats, which we did. The counter was clearly a mistake. Once we sat down, one of the employees thought it would be a fantastic idea to sort silverware right next to us on the counter. This meant I had to listen to her banging silverware. Super. Then, another employee decided to do something with the coffee to prep for the next day, so she opened up the bin with coffee grounds right in front of us, so now we heard the music from the silverware and the scent from the coffee, all while waiting a long time for our food. They were so concerned with prepping for the next day that they just threw the customer service onto the Beltline. I got a turkey avocado something sandwich which was unnecessarily heavy and really not enjoyable. I figured I'd get one of their red velvet cupcakes since they looked pretty good. Nothing else to say but lol worst cupcake ever. Tasted like cardboard and the icing was nothing short of horrendous. Never again, Anna's, never again.
(1)Katy C.
This was my first time at the East Beltline location. My boyfriend and I went at around 9am on Sunday morning. There was no wait, but I'm sure it gets busy after the church rush. I love the decor at this location. It feels like you're really in someone's house with the little room off the the side and the kitchen-themed decorations. I loved the blues and greens. it's very welcoming and comfortable. Our server was friendly and the service was pretty prompt. It only took 10 minutes for our food to come out, and it was hot! I had the corned beef hash and my boyfriend had the bagel breakfast sandwich, The Ricker. The corned beef hash was SO good. Large chunks of homemade corned beef, finely diced onions, green peppers, mushrooms, redskin potatoes and eggs. Comes with a choice of toast. I loved that the onions and green peppers were so finely diced - it made everything come together really well. The Ricker is a bagel sandwich with fried egg, cheddar, avocado, bacon and tomato. It's a big sandwich and it comes with your choice of potato too! He really enjoyed it, and it's one of my favorites there too. Overall, I like this location more than the Plainfield location. I would definitely go back again!
(4)Teri W.
Adorable decor, huge selection for breakfast. The chef has s tendency to undertook the eggs. Next time I will get over- medium and ask for the hashed Browns to be more crispy. Definitely worth another try!
(2)Marcel G.
If you go here get the server Paige! What a fricken sweet heart! I NEVER give any place 5 STARS but this place exceeded my expectations. Food - their food was fresh and abundant! Most places that have high prices have low portions, but not this place! I ordered 3 chocolate pancakes and they were huge! (I couldn't even finish those decadent bastards) their coffee tasted like they had a Beanery right in the back of the kitchen, so fresh! Atmosphere - this place is a mixture of the 70's and a beach house crafty feel straight from your mothers Michael's catalogue. I felt like I should of left the restaurant on my surfboard. Definitely a perfect little hut for your fresh food and delightful service. Consider myself a repeat customer.
(5)Adrianne B.
We brought some friends here for weekday brunch and were happy to have another great experience! No wait! Kiddo had the red velvet pancakes with cream cheese frosting topping-- really good, though I could never commit to a whole plate of them. But I have found a new favorite a.m. indulgence in the Corned Beef Hash Benedict. Simply scrumptious!
(5)Debra T.
Great experience. Had the biscuits and gravy. Quite good. Apparently that's not enough because it comes with 2 eggs and potatoes. Lots of food. Coffee good. Better than most diner coffee. Server, Bethany, quite friendly and attentive. Definitely will be back and will recommend.
(5)Eric F.
Outstanding breakfast. It's always awesome to find a good sit down breakfast. My to-go order was also very timely, with a very friendly staff. To summarize; great atmosphere, great people, great food.
(5)John M.
Just OK. This place is close to our house and we had a coupon so we decided to try it out. We heard varied reviews but were excited that they try and use local and high quality ingredients. When we arrived they were packed but we got a table relatively quick. It took a little while to be greated but we eventually got our order in. We got juevos rancheros and the banana Pecan pancakes. Both were between alright and good, which we felt was sub par for the price. We felt we could replicate them at home fairly easily and when we dine out we look to have experiences in which we cannot recreate well/easily (including service). What drops this to a 3 was the service. Our server only refilled our water once, never refilled our coffee (a hostess did once after the table next to us snagged her and sent her our way) and took a long time to drop off the check and cash us out. She never checked to see how our meal was either. We feel that there are better options at the same or better prices in GR that have exceptional service. My wife did say that she wants to try the cinnamon roll. It was the size of a plate.
(3)Ken M.
Fantastic breakfast food. This place has something for everyone, and it's all done superbly. Their chef is creative as well, so the specials are a fun, unique twist.
(5)Patrick C.
Great service and atmosphere. Fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh brewed iced tea. All natural fresh food.
(5)Megan T.
One of the top breakfast places in GR! At first I didn't even notice this restaurant because it didn't stand out. I heard some good things and decided to give it a chance. I was very pleasantly surprised by the beachy adorable decor inside. The food was even better and I have been back several times. My eggs have always been cooked perfectly and I really enjoy the omelettes. My husband got a breakfast sandwich with avocado once and it was to die for! I also like the mix matched collection of coffee mugs and the fast and friendly service. I like that servers use iPads to take orders and have always had my order come out correct. Love this place but go early to get a table!
(5)Estera P.
My friend and I had lunch there on Sunday. It's an awesome experience with a wonderful staff! The waitress was so sweet and took really good care of us. They usually have a wait line but surprisingly it goes by pretty fast. The food is healthy and delicious and they do have gluten-free options which made my friend super happy. This is a must if you're in the area.
(5)Chris M.
Coffee was good. Lots of interesting sounding breakfast items, but long wait, undercooked, and under-seasoned. Certainly not the best breakfast in town. Try Wolfgangs, Cherie Inn, or even Brandywine.
(2)Morgan T.
Pros: Clean and bright space. Modern feel with a classic touch. Cons: Poor service. Our server, Jacob, gave us 10% of his attention, never checked up during our meal and gave us our check as we were taking our last bites. I got the huevos rancheros which were just okay. Probably won't come back, at least to the beltline location.
(2)Samantha T.
Been here a few times now and each time has been exceptional. The service is great and everyone is so friendly. Today we had Rebecca and she knew the menu like the back of her hand. I had the Eggs Benedict with redskin American fries and they were delicious. Earlier this week I tried this pale for lunch and ordered the California Cobb wrap and it was a game changer! I highly recommend it. Breakfast or lunch... You don't want to miss this spot!
(5)Laura S.
This place is okay for breakfast. The Twilight French toast is my favorite. It's better than I-Hop but not as great as Real Food Cafe.
(3)Javan M.
The food and service rock. Great selection of innovative breakfast dishes. Loved the sweet potato and Brussel sprouts hash. The twilight French toast is a great favorite of my wife. We can't wait for the new one to open in Grandville.
(5)Ryan L.
We love Anna's House...breakfast food is very good. We have a son that has gluten issues, so it's so nice to have a wide variety of gluten free options. We come here whenever we can!
(5)Bob G.
Thursday morning 10 am breakfast. Prompt greeting and seating. Anxious to try this place as it was voted tops for breakfast in GR over what I consider to be some serious competition. Cute decor, spacious room, comfortable seating, average service. That's the good stuff. Now the food: Corned beef hash skillet with two over easy eggs and rye toast. O dear. Hash was very undercooked, barely warm. The green pepper and onion incorporated into the hash were pretty much raw and unpleasant to eat, the red skinned potatoes were just cut in half and were too large to get warmed all the way through, with no browning at all. The corned beef was very sparse and not browned either. The whole dish seemed like it might have well been microwaved. NO seasoning at all. Rye toast not toasted. Really a poorly executed dish, except for the eggs, which were correct, but unseasoned. My son had biscuits and gravy - it too was barely warm and had only a small amount of sausage in the gravy, of which there wasn't enough. Hash browns were hot but not seasoned. Biscuits were unremarkable. Coffee was good, Fresh squeezed OJ was good. We also ordered a cinnamon roll to split, and this massive puck came cut in half horizontally with frosting ladled between the slices and an alarming amount plopped on the top as well. It was more like we ordered frosting with a side of cinnamon roll. A bit gross, but probably aces for folks brought up thinking grocery store birthday cakes are good. The roll might have been fine, but there was no way to tell through the sugary blanket. Low score is because basic cooking techniques were so poorly executed: The monstrous size of the potatoes, cooking the veggies, serving hot food hot, using a bit of salt and pepper and the lack of much meat in the dishes. If they can't do any better than that, it makes me think there's no reason to try anything else, so more than likely we won't be returning. A pity.
(1)Diana R.
I have always wanted to try Anna's House. I went alone around 12:30 and ordered a Nut and Berry Salad (with Chicken). At 1:00 pm I had seen neither my server nor my salad. I asked someone to check on it. It came right out which tells me it was just sitting waiting to be delivered. Chicken was dry and even too hard to eat (maybe it was nuked?). I was starving so I ate what I could. No one checked back with me until I was almost done. Manager got involved and brought me more chicken (but salad was gone by then). Manager picked up the bill. That didn't make up for the bad experience. I am usually a generous tipper, especially when I dine alone. Not this time. I won't be back. If a restaurant can't give good service to one person ordering something that requires little to no prep, I'm not willing to find out how they do with something more complicated and a larger party.
(1)Jan M.
The Chef's breakfast sandwich on English muffin toast is an indulgence worth the savory calories. Just eggy and cheesy enough with generous chunks of fresh avocado and a sausage patty that seemed freshly made and well seasoned. Hash browns were ok, nothing to write home about. Service cheerful and efficient, coffee hot and freshly made. Anna's is a consistently good choice for breakfast or lunch.
(3)Arlen G.
Dined at the new Woodland location. Much more updated and modern than the Plainfield location. Friendly servers provided a good experience. Quality food with good value. I had a border scramble with home fries. My wife had traditional eggs, potatoes & turkey bacon. Wanted the maple grits but they weren't yet available. Will add to the Breakfast rotation
(4)Rob Q.
What an awesome place. The food is fantastic and the servers are extremely nice. It actually feels like a home (a new home). Colors are inviting and nice wall decor. Can't wait to go back!
(5)Sherry F.
The food here is fantastic! I love the California omelet. Yum! Good service, small and quaint.
(5)Autumn R.
Good breakfast foods, loved the seasonal options. My boyfriend enjoyed his big breakfast platter but wasn't too impressed with the pancakes, their quality didn't match the rest of the meal. I choose the apple strudel waffles. The waffles were delicious, but had way too much granola on them. My one complaint would have to be about the service. I called ahead of time to ask the wait about five minutes before I got there and was told there was no wait, when I got there I was told a 15 min wait. Also, I never got the change back, even thought the change was only a few cents, I still would have liked to be asked if I wanted it back. Overall, average, but the service might deter me from coming back.
(4)Bill C.
Flat-out best breakfast place around. Blows away the former local favorite by a mile these days.
(5)C M.
We had great service and our server had a good sense of humor. Even with all the customizing on our parties orders. The homemade potato chips were amazing and the bussel sprout and sweet potato hash is definitely worth a try. The decor and atmosphere is fun as well. Will come back next time we visit Grand Rapids.

The food is great and so is the service. I love the corn beef hash with poached eggs on top. The parking is horrible and there is always a line.
(4)Josh K.
The food was fine, but the experience was super disorganized. Long waits to be seated, long waits for food, the staff seemed genuinely confused as to how they should seat their customers, serve them their meals, and warm up their coffee. A solid manager and some training for the staff would go a long way towards improvement, but in the meantime we'll probably stick with Wolfgang's and Brandywine.

Will come back and give five stars after a few more visits. Wife and I have been enjoying the Plainfield location for years and it's nice to have one closer to our house, but it's not quite the same. Menu has been limited and staff seems to lack experience. Don't let this stop you from eating here though. Expect this will work itself out with time

Came here once and havent been back. Matter of fact I probably won't be. I came in by myself and was sat in a "bar" are that faced a wall and was awkwardly placed amongst other tables. It was a struggle to even reach my seat and in coming in and out (once to use the bathroom and the few times for the server) was an obvious annoyance to the tables around me. The food was sub par. I asked for my eggs to be poached and was told in a very aghast manner "we don't do that here" which is odd because I've never seen a breakfast place who couldn't poach eggs. I instead got them basted which was fine but still kind of confusing. The meat was slightly over cooked but I did appreciate the lean options available. All in all my experience was uninviting. The hustle and bustle was overwhelming and the seating was irritating. I wish this place luck in there venture but I did not enjoy my experience.

Good food and not much of a wait on the 4th of July. I liked the selection on the menu. Went with corned beef hash scramble. Fresh corned beef. Pulled, not ground up. Nice mix of vegetables in the scramble. My wife had eggs Benedict, which she liked a lot. Good portion sizes. A little pricey, but not out of reach. Place has only been open a couple of weeks, which might explain the server's errors in not bring the food exactly as ordered. Nothing major. Employees were friendly and thanked us for coming in. I will go back.

I ordered a favorite of mine (my go-to order at any and all breakfast spots) [2 eggs OE, 2 pieces of Bacon, 2 pieces of toast (cinnamon raisin if avail or WW)]. The bacon was the best I've ever had (perfectly cooked and very high quality) (only Fork in the Road: Lansing comes close). The butter applied to the eggs made them very delicious and they also were cooked perfectly (Over Easy). The cinnamon raisin toast was also perfectly buttered and I added a little too. The order was delivered quickly and the service is the most attentive and responsive that I've seen in Grand Rapids or anywhere for that matter (it is obvious that they are a well run staff). Clean and neat environment too.

Adorable atmosphere. It has a modern 50's vibe. Young and kind wait staff. My first time here but the spicy turkey panni I had was wonderdul. A unique spin on a turkey sandwich. I will definitley be back to try something from their breakfast menu.

Love this place!! Such a great atmosphere and the service and food is AWESOME!! Great apple cider and I recommend red velvet pancakes or any skillet!
(5)Anna H.
Amazing!! My favorite place for breakfast that has GF food for me and awesome food for my family! Red velvet pancakes are a must!
(5)Valerie C.
Great food! Great service! Lots of gluten free options. And natural unprocessed food! A dream come true for my clean eating heart!!
(4)Jonny P.
Wonderful. The best breakfast. Not such a good lunch, but that's not what they're known for. Anything on the breakfast menu is bound to be appetizing! You can go wrong. The decor is very welcoming as well as their wait staff!
(5)Brandon S.
Anna's house is a must try for breakfast in Grand Rapids. The decor inside is cheerful and welcoming. The wait staff is very attentive. My wife had the California omelette, and I had the candied pecan and banana stuffed french toast. Both of these dishes were unique and fantastic. We really enjoyed our meal here. We could tell that the staff is very focused customer attention, because we even saw a chef walking around the dining room refilling coffee. The French press coffee is fantastic , and so is the cinnamon bun. However, if you are like my wife and I and decide to get the cinnamon bun as an appetizer, be forewarned that it is a monster! If there are only two of you, you will be taking some home. We especially liked the focus on local ingredients. Be sure to check this place out, and don't be surprised if there is a wait. You will not be disappointed.

I would give this place five stars if they had chorizo. Great new decor. Food that is identical to the Plainfield location. Did they update that location? Back to chorizo. So far sundance is the only breakfast joint to dabble in southwest breakfast. Apart from going to Maggie's Kitchen. Hopefully Anna's house steps up their southwest offerings a tad. Chorizo is starting to be as mandatory as bacon.
(4)Maggie T.
Great food! The restaurant has a old school diners look. Very clean and classy. Food was good and healthy. They also have freshly squeezed oj. It's always busy but we didn't wait too long.
(4)Brian W.
Bethany (aka...sassy, but I guess I had it coming) was our server. Good food! Great service! And an awesome server!!! I can already tell I'll soon be a regular! Thanks for the experience! Brian.

Hands down the best breakfast Elly and I have had in...oh...forever. Elly had the gingerbread waffles and they were CRAZY amazing. My huevos rancheros were awesome, and the house made Ranchero sauce needs to be bottled and sold so I can have it more often. The service was stellar, and the (seasonal) peppermint mocha made Elly's entire face beam. We will be back. We will bring friends. And I will tell everyone I know how happy we were!
(5)Bob H.
Fast and efficient service. Great fresh decor. Breakfast was very good. Busy because it is newly opened. That did cause some delay in getting basic check backs from wait staff. Refills, or requests for assistance were slow. I would go there again. Overall very nice.

We have come here several times and things have been real good. Today was the worst breakfast ever, the hash browns were so hard you couldn't eat them and the food had no flavor what's so ever. Very disappointed.
(1)Cassandra N.
A friend and I decided to stop here since there was so much good buzz about it. Apparently there are a lot of people in GR who enjoy bland food; I am not one of them. I was not impressed with the breakfast I ordered nor was my friend. The service was good. The place was packed but we didn't have to wait to be seated. My friend had an omelet which was not impressive. I don't think they bothered to season anything. I decided to try the Huevos Rancheros with Pork Carnitas. The pork was terribly dry and again, I don't think they season anything. My daughter had gone in once before and ordered the corned beef hash which was short on corned beef and heavy on potato. They should call it potato hash. Did I mention that they don't season anything? This place is perfect for people with bland taste buds. Enjoy!
(2)William K.
Great service. Great food. Packed with customers on a Monday mid morning. Quick service though. I would come back.
(4)Dan C.
It's always nice to find a new great spot. Anna's is it! I've always said you measure a restaurant by their soups. If soup is good rest of food follows. I had one of the best tomato bisque soups that I have ever had. And of course my sandwich was tasty also. One of things that sets this spot apart from others is their customer service. Textbook and should be the model all others follow. Fantastic meal and I will be back!
(5)Laura H.
Great place to meet for breakfast. The decor is so bright and inviting. Great service and good coffee. I always get the Greek omelette and it's wonderful. Very fresh and not greasy. I keep seeing the sugar bread, so I will have to try it the next time I go there.
(4)Trent M.
Intriguing and fresh décor design, but the food is simply average. The concept is tech-forward with a detailed design consciousness, the main driver of the local buzz, I believe. I ordered the Chickadee omlette. The egg was slightly undercooked, and I was surprised with how little meat there was. Fortunately the rye toast was tasty enough to satisfy the entrée. I wished I had ordered the chicken + waffles. The service was decent- my coffee was refilled 3 times at the halfway mark, but the others in my party had a difficult time requesting ice for their (iceless) ice tea. I then had to explain why you don't order ice tea at a breakfast diner. You can find better breakfast in GR, but try this place for their gluten free/dairy free options. Food: B- Service: B Atmosphere: A

We went because it was highly recommended. I was REALLY disappointed with getting seated. There was a manager and servers around (saw me, my husband and baby waiting) yet no one came over to greet us for 5 minutes! The food was fine, but our server was just okay. We waited quite a while for our server to greet us and get drinks ordered, about another 5 minutes. Mind you, we were there at 8am on a Saturday, the restaurant was about only a third full.

Never going back. Extremely disappointing. I thought this place was adorable stepping in for the first time! Unfortunately.... My boyfriend and I ordered the corned beef and hash, expecting... hash. So we asked the waitress if we could get it well done, because we both like it crispy. She says, "Oh, no, it's not like THAT. We don't have the FAKE stuff here." (Excuse me??) I wish we had asked her to clarify what she meant by "not the fake stuff", because what came out was utterly disappointing. Basically, dinner style corned beef. Oven roasted. In huge chunks. Same for the potatoes. Just huge chunks of potatoes. I was so confused. This was like dinner style corned beef. It was very well seasoned and very flavorful! Just... the last thing I expected for breakfast! Pair that with some cabbage and you have a fine dinner, sure?? But they missed the point here somewhere. And given the pretentious attitude of the waitress, we didn't really feel like we could voice our concerns with the dish. I like "the fake stuff" well enough, but if you're going to do "the real stuff" and brag about it, do it well, and do it right. We left very unsatisfied, kind of insulted, and positive we would not return to a place that served us a very confused meal, and a nasty attitude. There's a million better breakfast places than this in the area, with much better food, and a much friendlier staff.
(1)Jeff P.
Lots of food. The Western Omelette could feed two. Good coffee. Fast, friendly service. Definitely worth a visit.
(4)Bill D.
If mediocre service and a one-cup maximum on coffee are what you're looking for, Anna's is your breakfast place. The decor is pleasing, with soothing colors and some interesting wall hangings, such as a toaster sculpture, and even a cute little mixer lamp. Some of the food is above-average, particularly the corned beef my wife ordered, and the tasty, tasty bacon. Our impression once our food was served, however, was of a restaurant unmanaged. Once we finished our first cup of coffee, we weren't offered a refill; in fact, we observed no refills for any table. Ten minutes after our food arrived, our check was set face-up on a stemmed pastry plate for all to see (Yes, I realize they probably think that's stylish, but no.) Feeling understandably rushed, we walked to the checkout counter, and waited in line behind a bus boy who was talking with the young woman behind the register. Once he was finished, we paid and left.
(2)Christine T.
Stylized with over the top decor, this spot for lunch was a solid okay. Attentive service scores points.
(4)Rashid J.
A couple of weeks ago, we ate at Anna's House--for steak and eggs, red velvet pancakes, sausage, bacon and toast. The wait time was reasonable, the service was great, and our waitress even gave me a cup of coffee to go (their coffee tastes awesome!). I like this joint much better than Real Food Café.
(5)Annie K.
The first thing I want to talk about is the decor - it is so fresh and inviting! I feel like I am taken back in time and at the beach or on a pier. The second thing I want to talk about is the food. The menu is different from the Plainfield location. Not all, but don't expect the same menu. The menu is large, but has something for everyone. I have only had breakfast, so that is the only thing I can speak on, but it was really good. We ate up at the bar and I wish that the servers were more chatty and social. After all, isn't that what eating up at the bar is for? The chef came out to ask what we ordered and how we liked it and engaged in small talk, but I would like to see the younger wait staff be more social and outgoing. That would add to the diner and homey feel that the decor attempts at. I gave it four stars because of the wait staff. I realize that most of them are young, but they would congregate and socialize with each other and some of the conversation was inappropriate for people to overhear. A little TMI if you will. I would like to see them engage with the customers more and less with one another. Food is great and service is ok.
(4)Bryan E.
Always wanted to try this place, so with a new location we did. I love what they did with the building. Nice and open with side rooms for bigger parties. The wait was not bad at all. They have seating inside and out to wait. Menu was pretty straight forward. They have Hash Browns (big plus for me). I ordered the western Omlette and a side of those Hash Browns. Size was ok. Wish I got more hash browns. Food was very good. Only thing that discouraged me was the price. We dropped little over $30 for 2 entrees, 2 sides of hash browns and 1 apple juice. All-around a good place! Won't crack my top 5 breakfast spots.
(3)Samuel R.
Great food and fun atmosphere. It is a mix between classic diner and modern American. I had a rice bowl today, but their breakfast is amazing! Try the California Omelet or any of their skillets. Plus they have tons of options without gluten to fit my diet needs. I'll be back for sure
(5)Angela B.
This location is much more spacious than the Plainfield location. It is always busy so if you don't have time to wait, this probably isn't the place for you. The food is good but I feel like since they redid everything--their prices are more expensive. We went a few weeks ago and for me to get 1 blueberry pancake (which are not as big as they were before) I'm pretty sure it was $4. We also saw that they are going to be opening one on 44th St. in Grandville.
(4)Nora M.
Not impressed. If you are going for decor and stepford wives appeals to you its probably worth a visit. Otherwise I'd skip it. The service was slow, coffee serviceable, my breakfast tasted like I was sick and let my husband cook--gets the job done but nothing special. I wish they put more effort/creativity into the food and less into the decor.

The new Annas House is very cute! My boyfriend and I went for breakfast because I had been to the original annas house and have really liked it. We ordered a cinnamon roll to share (the frosting was awesome), I ordered the smoked salmon hash which was good, but could've used a sauce or something more flavorful. My boyfriend ordered some egg Benedict with ham. We've had better hollandaise, but he still enjoyed it. Our server, Paige, was very sweet and attentive even with it being a very busy Sunday morning! We will be back for the atmosphere and to try more creative dishes that they offer.
(4)Harry C.
Good; the chicken waffles were really tasty, my kid devoured his French toast sticks, my wife liked her sandwich. Window seat was nice. Not good; table wait reasonable (20 min) food wait not (35 min!) Awful; when the host apologized for the tippy table, I dismissed it and said "ok." I didn't realize that "tippy table"=lazy Susan pendulum of coffee spilling doom.
(3)Stephanie E.
Very upset with Annas house right now. My gluten free french toast, that I paid extra for was not gluten free. How do I know this? While I was eating it i kept thinking this is really good. With in a few hours I had stabbing pains in my stomach as if my intestines had little knifes in them trying to rip me apart and bloating so bad that my back hurt... I ate their at 10am its now 10pm and I still have that pain!! When someone orders gluten free it is not always b.c of some fad diet. Its bc our bodies can not break down gluten like others. I will be up all night with this pain and will have this pain for the next few days. So thank you to the cook who decided I needed regular bread and thought I wouldn't notice. Please train your staff. Yes bread did have a stick in it stating gf but it was obviously not. I haven't been in this amount of pain in years! I am hoping to get sleep tonight since I have to be to at work super early tomorrow. Very disappointed today with them!!
(2)Kelly P.
Very cute decor. The waiter puts your order through an iPad so it's a pretty neat modern place wit good service. Sadly that's where the pros end. I had the standard breakfast fare (pancakes, bacon, eggs, hash browns) and it wasn't anything to rave about. Tastes a bit like chain offerings with sad limp bacon. Perhaps they excel in their specials but I personally wouldn't return.
(1)Linz M.
This place is amazing for breakfast. Service is great, the menu is always quality and changing, but the classics are always available. The coffee Is so good and fresh squeezed orange juice. Interesting setting very fun place to go. Parking is easy. Brware, they close at 3!
(5)Marie N.
By far the worst service in GR!!! Our server was either just hired or really had no interest in making our meal an enjoyable experience. I think it was the latter. It took well 5 minutes to be greeted by this person, over 3 trips to get our 6 drinks, we had to ask her to take our order, she refilled coffee cups without being asked, but not tea cups, and couldn't tell us what was used to make their smoothies, etc, etc. and when asked about the size of their pancakes, I quote, her response was "pretty big". We did notice, though, she was extremely friendly with the guy at the counter.

Stopped in at random for a good breakfast before heading to the airport and come away wishing this place was in my hometown. My server, Samantha, was delightful. The prices were a little high, but I'm happy to pay them. Loved it.
(5)Cheryl P.
Was excited to try this new spot out. Unfortunately was disappointed with quality of food. It's barely a half step above Denny's. But the decor is super colorful and adorable.
(1)David M.
Our waitress was Trish. About as real and fun as a server gets. Was just at another GR pub and waitress was affected and bored. What a nice change. Food was just great. Atmosphere was pleasant, open, light and clean. Would go back for sure. Real people helped by real servers. Kudos to Trish!!
(5)Maggie V.
I thought I was going to a good place to eat! To start, I was surprised at the pricey breakfast menu! My coffee was served in a large cup but it was not good tasting coffee--perhaps it was ordinary food service coffee--weak and tasteless. "Better" coffee was on the menu for an additional charge. I ordered pancakes, eggs and sausage. The eggs and sausage were fine, the the pancakes were a disaster! They were flat (not fluffy) and very tough. I don't think I've ever bad such bad pancakes. When I complained, the waiter just said "sorry." He did not offer an adjustment in my bill. Overall, save your money and head for Big Boy or Denny's. You will be better off.
(2)Justin O.
By Far the Best Breakfast in Grand Rapids and the service is amazing super friendly staff. Healthy Baked Oatmeal is amazing as well as just about everything else. Wonderful Warm Atmosphere but get there early or be prepared to wait a little while.
(5)Liz D.
Excellent service - fast and friendly, ideal for small kids! Food was incredible: fresh and delicious. Can't wait to go back! Highly suggest the Greek omelette.
(5)Jake R.
annas house is a fantastic breakfast spot. everything from the staff to the decor eminates pure cozy pleasantness. the menu, while nothing groundbreaking or out of this world, does the breakfast/brunch basics perfectly. the staff is extremely friendly. the bartender, wendy, has such a kind, motherly personality. she made me feel as if i had been a regular there for years. this place has become a monday morning tradition for me. if i could, i would go every morning to my usual seat at the bar, have the pumpkin spice pancakes, and just sit for hours, sipping at a warm cup of coffee. annas house is a delightful little spot that is a must visit for any brunch lovers in grand rapids.
(5)Ed H.
I like the design. Bright and cheery diner with simple tables and chairs. It drew several customers even on a weekday morning. Service was OK and a bit disorganized. They seemed unable to keep up with customer demand or offer personal service even though the customers on this weekday morning had to be just like any other. The food, didn't live up to my expectations. For a restaurant that was rated as top breakfast in Michigan I had expected breakfast items prepared from scratch using the owners unique recipe. The coffee is mediocre - Starbucks has better. I ordered waffles that tasted like any mix that could be purchased in the store. They were chewy and tasteless. The accompanying syrup was warm artificial maple - not real maple syrup. I've had a better breakfast in many restaurants and don't understand how this restaurant got rated so highly.
(2)Morgan K.
I was so impressed by Anna's House! Everything from the unique and cheerful decor to the friendly service was great. I will definitely be coming back to try the countless number of dishes that sound incredible. The food was delicious! Awesome place.
(5)Megan B.
I say this place is okay. The food is decent but the service is just outrageously horrible. It really surprises me that there is such a big wait for such a horrible restaurant. I went there for my birthday this morning and it was disgusting. I will never go there again. Plus, it's all Gordon food service.
(1)Ladonna C.
Amazing food! Great atmosphere. My only suggestion is they could add dairy free cheese to the choices.
(5)Alison B.
I've been here several times and have found the food and service to be above average. The servers have been attentive and funny. When trying to decide on a soup, one of the other servers overheard me and said, "If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life, I'd choose the white chicken chili!" I ordered it and it was delicious. The Brussels sprout hash is terrific. I would have never thought to put dried cherries in a hash but it adds an extra depth of flavor. The salads are terrific with fresh, plentiful ingredients. The children with me loved the pancakes. I would recommend real maple syrup being an option for those that want it. The decor is fun. The wait is long at the usual times but I've gone at 11:00 AM on a weekday and was seated right away. Highly recommend this place for breakfast or lunch.
